Mahesh Babu entered the multiplex business in 2019 by partnering with Asian Cinemas. Their first project, AMB Cinemas in Hyderabad has been performing strongly for more than six years. Now the brand is expanding to Bengaluru with a new AMB Cinemas set up at the historic Kapali Theatre location.
Named AMB Cinemas Kapali, the new multiplex will open on December 16, and Mahesh Babu is expected to attend. This launch is special because it introduces South India’s first Dolby Cinema.
Until now, India had only one Dolby Cinema screen in Pune. With this addition AMB Kapali becomes the second in the country and the first in the South.
Dolby Cinema offers a premium viewing experience using Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and special auditorium design competing with IMAX.
AMB Kapali will feature nine advanced screens, including a huge 60-foot Dolby Cinema screen. Dolby also plans more such screens in Hyderabad, Trichy, Kochi and Ulikkal.
